Mission and Vision

 Mission Statement

The Laurel Palliative Care Foundation provides funds for essential services to patients at end-of-life, who use the services of Southern Adelaide Palliative Service (SAPS), either in the Laurel Hospice itself, or within the community. In addition, the Foundation provides funds to support the families of these patients through a range of services including the complementary care and art therapy programs.

Future Vision

The Laurel Palliative Care Foundation enables people receiving end-of-life care in Southern Adelaide to access care and services above and beyond those traditionally funded by Government. The Foundation also plays a key role through the development of high-level relationships and collaborations with research and education institutions in providing funds for palliative and end-of-life research and enhanced palliative care education.

Key strategies

  • Develop a fundraising strategy which ensures the on-going and sustainable funding for the complementary care and art therapy programs and the provision of specialised equipment.
  • Develop high-level relationships and collaborations with research institutions which result in the provision of commissioning of key research into improved palliative and end of life models of care.
  • Develop high-level relationships and collaborations with education institutions which result in the provision of enhanced and contemporary palliative and end of life care education programs.
